John Chuck Peterson Chuck Peterson takes pride in practicing in a number of areas of law. He especially enjoys estate planning and helping families bring order to decision making that eases the transitions of illness and death. This includes preparing wills, powers of attorney, health care directives and handling real estate and probate issues. He also specializes in commercial transactions and water law. He served as a Blue Earth County Public Defender for 26 years and developed litigation expertise. He frequently handles litigation involving real estate, probate, and commercial issues. A 1976 graduate of Drake University Law School, Peterson was active with the Drake University Law Review. He teaches with the City of Mankato’s Home Stretch Program for first time home buyers, and with VINE, a nonprofit providing assistance to elderly and disabled persons. He is a Board Member and past Chairman, Mankato House of Hope Halfway House.
